DEV said they updated Unity and did bug fixes, wonder if they aborted most of update, the non-facebook stuff, don't see anything changed right off the bat.

Nothing changed yet.
The dev notes are just a timed based announcement.
If you look at the game settings you will see you are not on version 6.0 yet.
Version 6.0 is out in the App Store but if you install it now you will be locked out of the game until after the servers have upgraded.

It already started for my Android's Rebel acc level 7. Got the message "Commander was updated", and when clicked to login, i got the "Hang tight, Commander..." message on loading screen...

For my two accounts on Gameroom, I only see the Note from Developers about the Version 6.0:

Yes. If you updated your client early, you are locked out until servers update.
Many have auto updates turned on so this happens automatically to them.

This is also a slow roll out. Some server clusters are down and some are not. I’m still in the game as I type this.
But servers have not updated yet is my point.


Update:
30 min after this post [and 90 min after the started time) the remaining servers have gone down. Safe to update your clients.
Now we wait for the servers to come back on line.

Currently locked out now got my grind on and made it to 2.03 defences are active however upon updating app sever maintenance message is all i get currently.

We are locked out of the game now. The developers decided to continue with the rest of the update

On gameroom the game updated automatically so I am locked out on iOS I still get the "Hang tight" message - before and after updating the game. Hope it does not take too long as I'd like to start the 10 hour crate research before going to bed.
