Just to give you some tips. The current meta is ‘skinned jets’ and you only need 20 frags to unlock each type. Make thee your priority because attacking becomes a lot more manageable after you get them even at level 1 they get much stronger. Dps jumps from 1344 to 6384 and health jumps from 13440 to 25536 at lvl 8 jets + lvl 1 skins. If you are still having trouble attacking, hold off on upgrading turrets and building upgrading traps. They will increase the strength of your opponents.

Thanks guys. Finding a squad is on the top of my list (Death Striker, check your PM's, thanks!)

Sounds like I should prioritize Jetpack Troopers. Mine are only level 1 now, so I will go about upgrading them.

Next question, what are some good troop compositions for attacking? I've basically been using the following 2 comps, with various degrees of success:

1 Juggernaut
7 Sharpshooters
4 Med Droids
1 Vanguard
3 Soldiers
Johhar Kessen

1 Juggernaut
2 Hailfires
4 Med Droids
7 Heavies
1 Gammorean
1 Vanguard
3 Soldiers
Chewie

I remember being able to use R2 with mechs back in the day, but doesn't seem like that works now.

Also, is there an easy way to determine the levels of the Empire bases before I attack them? Is there like a wiki or something where I can take a look at the different buildings? I find myself accidentally attacking level 10 bases at times, and it doesn't go well.

Thanks!

I think this is wat u’re looking for. Click on turrets and u get a visual of what they look like at each level. But if they have skins (they are flashing) then it means that they are double the strngth in terms of level. Flashy lvl 5 turret is stronger than a non flashy lvl 10. Hope that puts things in perspective.

In terms of compositions. Whatever u have skins for will be strongest. If its rebels, hover tanks, jets whatever u have skins for. Nearly impossible to 3-star anything without them. If u dont have any skins watsoever, then heavies with med droids with han or chewie will work best. Also keep a few vanguards and rebels. Use heavies meds and hero to take out the center of base (normally shields turrets hq) and rebels to clean up buildings apart from turrets.
If u can manage, then work in jugs for faster cook times, if u are having trouble, more droids and more heavies. Sharps are bad on offence, they are defensive troops.

I’m an officer at HaZe if u wanna join us. It’s our training squad of two others. I joined 3 months ago after leaving the game about few years ago. I’d love to play with you. Our war win streak is like 20 or something as well :) our prestige squads donate p units for us which gives a big advantage in war, conflict defence/offence. Just type haze into the search box and u can join. My in-game name is Yoda.

Welcome back!

I've never found the vehicles to be of any use so I'd use either of those with the Juggernaut swapped for 20 soldiers. This thread may help too: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=39

You may also want to read some of the threads about turret choices too if you are coming back after some time away. This section may be a good place to find those viewforum.php?f=32

Tarasco - I replied to your PM.

Tarasco wrote:I remember being able to use R2 with mechs back in the day, but doesn't seem like that works now.

R2D2 Hero has 2 Missions:

  • R2D2 Hero (Un-skinned) does its "primary mission" and currently heal Vehicles.
  • R2D2 Hero (Skinned) becomes Artoo & Threepio plus changes "mission" and targets Turrets to Disable them.

There is lots of Information for you to access.

  • Wiki (Black Site) has Images of Empire Structures for all Levels up to Level 10.
  • SWC Wiki has lots of good information and Images but still needs some updating.
  • Data Miner Website **This often has the most current Info but has no Images.
 Keep in mind that Prestige Level Buildings look exactly like Level 10 Buildings but have a changed Color Scheme of Gold / Blue / White for Rebels and Gold / Red / Black for Empire.

the problem is not the level of buildings, the real problem is glowing barrack and turret

It doesn't sound right, but it is easier to start a fresh account and accumulate frags to unlock and level up armory equipment and new unit, than to resurrect an old high level account, because match making doesn't take into account armory equipment.

Life is 2x more difficult if you don't have armory equipment at good enough level to compete at L7 or above. You'd face uphill battle on either side (offense and defense).

Having a planet with no armory equipment would help with returning players ... Either that, or factor armory equipment into match making algorithm.

Google Star Wars Commander Wiki and it has some good information, and highly recommend checking out the links provided by the others. Just to clarify, are your Jets at level 1 or are the Jet skins are at level 1? That's a big difference. If your Jets are at level 1, you are operating like a level 6 or 7 at best, and you may want to consider DarkRebel's suggestion of a restart. Accumulating frags are a lot easier if you focus on troop and armory upgrades, over base upgrades. Each time you add a turret and trap, it has a significant impact on the level of opponents you will face. In other words, it's actually better to let the base upgrades lag behind troop and armory upgrades early on in the game. The matchups get especially ugly at level 8 and 9, if you get upside down (base upgrades ahead of troop and armory upgrades). That said, it's a personal choice.

In terms of load outs, it all comes down to what types of bases you tend to attack, e.g. layout and turret types. And just as importantly, what level you have the units at and if you have skins and special units. Sharpshooters have their strengths, especially with the Sully skins, but using 7 un-skinned Sharps seems excessive, so I would not recommend the first loadout that you have listed. Sharps are weak vs. walls and shields, and generally are best served in other specialized roles.

I think it's best to think of the loadouts in terms of roles. Breachers, Shield Busters, Generalists, meds, trap busters, specialists like snipers/bikes/mercs, etc. Start with the generalists like Jets and Heavies, and then add the others to the mix as needed.

Yoda94, I sent you a PM

Everyone, thank you for all the links, they are really helpful and have made a difference for me already.

Yeah, unfortunately I do not have any skins/armory equipment for my offensive troops. And my Jetpack troops are level 1, without skins. However I don't really feel like starting over, I'll just struggle through it. Hearing about how big the differences are between the upgraded structures explains some of the things that happened when I was attacking early on.

I'm sure I will have more questions.

Understandable. Get with a good squad with perks, and get as many crates as you can, and you will do fine. Good luck!
