The following was mentioned by Spock here:

Spock wrote:5. New feature: Matchmaker tracking (COMING SOON) – One of the most frustrating aspects of the game is getting a timely war match. Imperial squads seem to get matches right away, also known as instamatching. Meanwhile, Rebel squads can wait anywhere from 2-24 hours on average, depending on what league they are playing in. GSoW has developed a new feature that allows users of the site to see the teams waiting in the MM queue, and the length of time they have been there. This is across all leagues. The hope is this will change MM behavior.

a. Example: Squad leader A goes to GSoW to see how long the queue is. He sees that the wait is 7 hours due to 20+ rebel squads waiting for a match, while there are no imperial squads currently waiting. The squad decides to come back later and check the queue for a new MM time.

b. Example: Squad leader B is from a top 25 imperial squad and she sees that 6 top rebel squads are waiting for a match. This squad is interested in getting a tough opponent, so they immediately enter and get the war they are wanting.

AND SO... What is the current status of this NEW FEATURE?

In an effort to further refine squad war rankings, the GSoW team has developed and enacted a new layer of ranking analytic specifically targeting squads in the Ultra Chrome league. This process builds upon the current CBS standard, but adds a new qualifier based on the TrueSkill score. This will work via two methods:

1. A squad must have a CBS of 57K+, and;
2. A squad must have a TS score of 28.6K and higher;

to be able to pass into the Ultra Chrome league.

The result will be squads that enter the Ultra Chrome league will be highly competitive and have real base score value. There is not a maximum number of squads that can enter UC league. Squads that meet the CBS threshold simply need to win their way into the league (thus increasing their TrueSkill score). This will create a more competitive Obsidian league with up and coming squads attempting to breach the UC league limit. This should also reduce the amount of squads coming and going between UC and Obsidian leagues, creating a more stable ranking.

Lastly, the thresholds for Carbonite, Durasteel, and Bronzium have been adjusted based on the number of squads in each league. Please refer to the GSoW FAQ for more information.

Here is a breakdown of the new thresholds for the leagues.
The NEW CBS ranges are:
- Carbonite: 0 - 34,500
- Durasteel: 34,501 - 44,500
- Bronzium: 44,501 - 57,000
- Obsidian: 57,001+ with a TrueSkill score less than or equal to 28,600
- Ultra Chrome: 57,001+ with a TrueSkill score greater than 28,600
- The Sarlaac pit: Sandbagger squads are captured & confined here as they are slowly digested over thousands of years.

Unless the rankings can take into account who is participating in no-op wars and who is not, the squads are competing on uneven footings. Losing a no-op war can really move you down the rankings below many squads who can't and don't participate. And you can be at the top of the rankings by never losing a outpost war and simply not participating in no-op wars.

Agreed. There is two imp squads in top five that only do op wars and fight lesser squads........... The only time they fight top squads is by accident.......................They can get to top ranking just by sandbagging and not fighting waiting for the other squads to lose............

All very true but our hands are tied on that. Nothing we can do as the outpost data is just not there.
So we do what we can and feel it’s better than nothing.

I disagree. The latest change emphasizing skill rating makes the disparity much worse for squads who participate in no-op wars. Is it your intention to discourage no-op wars?

Who are these squads that have infiltrated the no-op rankings that weren't there before?

+1. The number 3 and 4 ranked teams are just biding their time and facing nobodies and have a chance at getting to number 1 without facing anybody...........They are facing totally outmatched squads with tako, tat, etc........Totally unfair............
