[Armory Info] Turret - Building - Unit - Hero - Skin Changes - Discussion Thread

While I know there are other Threads discussing the latest changes from Hotfix 01-19-2017, Patch 4.6.1.1. which dramatically increased the Heath Buff and Damage Buff of Turrets and Health Buff for Buildings - I thought a separate Thread to show exactly how much was changed would be good to both chronicle / record the current change and show any future "revisions".

Here are the details of the changes to both Armory Turret Skins and Armory Structure Skins (other than Turrets) using the SWC Wiki Change Info for 01-20-2017 and looking at "Diff" (Difference) as shown here.

A. Turrets:

All Armory Turret Skins use the same values (Buff Percent) for both HEALTH and DAMAGE.

LEVEL - OLD VALUE - NEW VALUE - PERCENT CHANGE

C. Comments

  1. The Old Value is the Buff Percentage prior to 01-19-2017.
  2. The New Value is the Buff Percentage as of 01-19-2017 (Patch 4.6.1.1.)
  3. The Percent Change is the percentage difference / change from the Old Value to the New Value.
  4. The FORMULA USED was the following: (New_Value - Old_Value)/Old_Value
  5. If these increases are ever changed again (increase / decrease) I will re-post the changes for comparison.

A more useful percentage details the percentage change in health and damage as follows:

{table removed to avoid confusion}

Since the armory and fragments have been out for awhile, most turrets at least doubled in health and damage, and other defensive structures more than doubled in health.

Did they uo the upgrade time to? Just started lvl 8 walls is 3 days 12 h. I forhet what lvl 7 was prior to update vut i think 1 day. Stopped armory updates a while ago because a 2 percent increase is nothing.

The Main Thread Post made by me shows the PERCENTAGE INCREASE (OR DECREASE) from one value to the next, so for example a Level 1 Turret it got a 400% HEALTH / DAMAGE BUFF VALUE INCREASE while a Level 1 Building got a 900% HEALTH BUFF VALUE INCREASE.

The second post by Shelendil attempted to show the percent increase to DAMAGE BUFF VALUE. The percentage increase values used by him were incorrect and I have removed his TABLE to avoid any confusion.

Shelendil did help though since I went back to look at the SWC Wiki and noted (remembered) that Turrets have TWO TYPES OF SKINS.

  1. Reinforced Mounting (Health Buff) - Provides bracing to the weak points of the turret mounting, increasing the amount of damage the turret will sustain before becoming non-operational.
  2. Enhanced Heat Sink (Damage Buff) - Diffuses the buildup of internal thermal energy, allowing the turret to more efficiently produce powerful volleys.
Both Turret Skins use the same values so Turrets got the same Health Buff and Damage Buff increases.

Also it was noted that Buildings (HQ, Resource Collectors, Walls, etc.) have only ONE TYPE OF SKIN.

  • Bracing (Health Buff) - Hardens the internal struts of the structure, allowing the building to diffuse attacks across its surface more efficiently.

Rogue12 - There has been no increase in Upgrade Times. WALLS have no build time and are instantaneous.

No, it wasn't incorrect. If the old value is +20% and the new value is +100%, then the change was:

from 100+20% to 100+100%

or 120% to 200%

(200-120)/120% = 66% more damage with the same armor buff active

Turrets certainly did not get a 4 to 5 time increase in damage after the patch; it's closer to twice the damage, depending on the level of the armory skin.

Shelendil - You math is wrong.

When talking about Turrets - the Old Value shown for Level 1 was 20% Buff and now the New Value for Level 1 is 100% Buff which means the Buff Value INCREASE +400% - as simple as that.

You show Old Value of 100 + 20% and a New Value of 100 + 100%, both of which includes a Turret Level 1 Damage of 100 which is WRONG.

First of all Level 1 Turrets all have different Damage Values and NONE have a Damage Value of 100.

Second my TABLE is simply showing the Percentage Change from Value A to Value B using the Formula shown in Section C of the Main Thread Post.

Now if you want to use the SWC Wiki and make a new Table showing for each separate Turret what the Net Effective Damage Value is (Raw Turret Damage + Buff) than you are welcome to do so.

FOR EXAMPLE:

  • A Level 1 Rebel Rapid Fire Turret has a Raw Damage of 500 so with the new Damage Buff of 100% the New Damage of a Level 1 RFT Damage would be 500 + 500 = 1000 = a 200% Increase
  • A level 2 RFT has Raw Damage of 750 so the math would be 750 + 113% or 750 + 847.5 = 1597.50 = a 213% Increase.

I was using 100% as the base value for the turret, not 100 damage points.

With the old level 1 armory skin a turret did 100%+20% = 120% of its value.
With the new level 1 armory skin a turret does 100%+100% = 200% of its value.
Thus post-patch the change is 166% or 66% more damage than pre-patch.

The raw damage values in the wiki tables are unnecessary for calculating the percent change in damage.

My table illustrated the percent change in damage (which is useful), rather than the percent change in buff.

Shelendil - Thanks again for posting.

I think that is where the confusion is.

First of all the SWC Wiki uses Buff Damage Values taken directly from Game Data so YES the damage values in the SWC Wiki Tables ARE NECESSARY to calculate the percentage change in damage.

Pre-Patch the OLD LEVEL 1 VALUE for Turret Armory Skins was 20 = 20% (not 100 = 100%) and after the Patch was applied the Value for Level 1 was 100 = 100%.

Click here for an example.

I hope we can now agree that the Table in the Main Thread Post is correct and of course you can create another Table if you wish.

I don't need to know the RAW damage values, the math is the same:

RAW DAMAGE
Old: 500*120%
New: 500*200%

New/Old = (500*200%)/(500*120%) = (200%)/(120%) = 166%.

The fact that a rapid does 500 points of damage does not matter.

And I did create another table. You deleted it.
