Guard reserves - not working for me ?

Hi
After collecting new frags it was time to use new toy. Was very excited how it can help in defending my base.
I expected a lot because my base is constantly attacked by highier opponents mainly from nine tier (I'm 8 tier) .
Maybe something which can help me a bit .
First I use guard reserves with melee bruiser and it was disaster. Next try light infantry with speeder bikes.
As I'm eight tier and I had to resign from using turret reinforcements like reinforced mounting. .
Normally I lose 50 % to 70 % after guard reserves I lose around 90 %
And of course I redesigned my base to protect barracks and so on.
Accident ? I don't think so.
I analysed attacks and attacker didn't bover about bikes and infantry it was completely ineffective against heavy with medic droids.
For now I back to old fashion turret reinforcements.

So what is your oppinion , is this worth something for me ( tier 8) or not ?
Or it is toy for tier ten when you have space for turrets and for guard reserves and me ( tier 8) should stay only with turrets.

I don't want to start fight beetwen rebel and Imps .
Just for me it is completely ineffective and want to know what I'm doing wrong , where is my mistake ?
Maybe stronger turrets is more effective for me or I should use only bikes with heat enchancements ?

Hm. Not sure how much I can give away without being labelled a traitor, but I also want people to enjoy the game.

Anywhere but Hoth, there are only two guard reserves that are any good for Imperials. Bikes is NOT one of them. Hint: for one of them, you also need to active another skin in the armory.

On Hoth, there are two more that are helpful (hint: bikes is still not one of them), but they both also require skins to be turned on. Is it blindingly obvious yet?

I hope this helps you enjoy the game more, but I also hope the entire guard reserve somehow goes away (it won't).

I see .
Guard reserves but with active skin .
But it takes almost all space in armory so no all buffs for turets.
It is really worth it ?

@Mistle: Try it and see. Right now, you have to experiment to survive in this game, so may as well enjoy it. Always in motion the future is, right?

As a level 8 being attacked by level 10s, I've found the guard reserve to be less useful than the turrets. Although either way is almost a sure loss.

Stick with your turret buffs for now unless you have guard reserve snipes or mhcs unlocked. If the empire didn't have those two options there would be an Empire exodus continues thread started as storns, bikes and dews are really no match for heavy + red trash cans.
